Daintree Wilderness Lodge offers 7 eco-certified cabins, each reached by a private boardwalk that ensures seclusion. Every cabin includes a balcony with outdoor furniture and a sunroof that lets guests view the rainforest canopy from bed. The bathrooms feature a full-length window overlooking the jungle, providing a shower experience surrounded by ancient trees.

On-Site Dining

The Cycad restaurant serves dinner and breakfast exclusively to lodge guests, with evening menus of modern Australian cuisine and mornings offering local seasonal fruits. Meals are prepared using ingredients sourced from the region, including fresh seafood and native produce. Dining under the Southern Hemisphere constellations is available on request, with no artificial light pollution.

Rainforest Activities

Wilderness Lodge Daintree maintains a 23-metre Rainforest Canopy Tower that grants bird's-eye views over the world's oldest living rainforest. Guided walking tours led by naturalists explore the diverse ecosystems, and a self-guided nature walk runs along a creek on the property. Guests can also join local culture tours that cover Aboriginal heritage and Torres Strait Islander traditions.

UNESCO Location

The lodge sits entirely within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and is a 30-minute drive from Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. Cape Tribulation is also the nearest departure point for reef snorkeling trips and ocean safaris. The Daintree Discovery Centre, an educational nature attraction with aerial walkways, is a 10-minute drive from the property.

Sustainable Operations

Daintree Wilderness Lodge Australia holds the Ecotourism Eco Certificate and powers its cabins with solar energy to minimize environmental impact. The buildings are elevated on stilts and constructed with low-impact materials, preserving the natural forest floor below. A heat pump supplies the outdoor spa, and all wastewater is treated on-site before returning to the ecosystem.
